For Your Consideration – Recipe Blog

I’ve never done a New Year’s Resolution before. But this year I decided that I would not only have 1, but 2. The first being to pay off my credit card and the second was to try and cook a new recipe every week. I’ve never considered myself a great cook (can we say cookie microwaving incident??) but can follow directions on a box pretty well. Now that I’m out in the real world with a real kitchen I wanted to start cooking a little more. It saves money & I’ve also found it’s a lot of fun! So far I’ve managed to cook at least one new recipe a week, sometimes even trying two or three a week.

Every recipe that we (I’ve recruited Chris as taste tester #1) like goes into a home made recipe book I’m creating so that they’re all in an easy to read format and more importantly easy to find and all in the same format. I absolutely hate trying to dig through my mom’s numerous recipe boxes and books (sorry mom!) trying to find a recipe. They’re all very cluttered and hard to read. Then all the recipes are in one easy to find place when preparing a menu or grocery list.
I’ve been throwing around the idea of starting a recipe blog to share the recipes that I like (or even the ones I dislike?). I guess what I’m wanting to know is would anyone read it? Or even better, would anyone try the recipes I post for themselves?

Above is a picture of apple cider drumsticks over seared apples and white rice with creamed spinach. A recipe I tore out of one of my mom’s cookbooks when I was in highschool. I highly reccomend it!
